Me and my team are Afrocentric in nature, we believed that the only agent that can change a society for better or worst is culture. My name is Comrade Ubong Alfred, i am the chairman AKWA IBOM FORMER STUDENTS PRESIDENT ASSOCIATION (AKIPAN).
Our culture is so demean, neglected or even Satanized that the black race totally loose confidence in themselves. We are the only race on earth without identity, our women wear wigs and bleach their skin, speak foreign languages with pride and are ashamed of their own languages. Parent now called their children names they do not know the meaning.
We are to evolves our culture, not to abandoned them, we are to modernized our culture, not to ridicules them. The older generation are irredeemable, hence our focus will be the younger generation; primary and secondary school pupils.
WE WANT TO;
- Initiate Afrocentric clubs in secondary schools where our true history, culture and self confidence is instill on the members.
- Supply some awakening, cultural and educational materials such as big frames pictures of black heroes, drawing of our past heroes and their stories to schools around the state. We believed that consistence looking at these images will make our children to start asking questions.
